The ‘Toxic’ singer - who is currently trying to get herself back on track following her public breakdown which saw her admitted to a psychiatric hospital earlier this year - has impressed bosses with her new material and now they want her to take on equally-troubled Whitney in an end of the year album war.
A source told Britain’s The Sun newspaper: “Britney has been on fire in the studio of late. During recording sessions for her last album ‘Blackout’ she was consumed by her private life. “But she is determined to make a triumphant comeback.
Her bosses have been amazed by the quality of tracks they’ve heard. Whitney is set for another relaunch at the same time later in the year. They are determined Britney will come out on top.” Read the rest of this entry »

The ‘Toxic’ singer’s father Jamie, who is also co-conservator of her estate, made the shocking discovery after examining Britney’s accounts.
A source close to the Spears family said: “It’s staggering how much money has been used up since February 2007.” Britney - who lost custody of her two children to ex-husband Kevin Federline before being admitted to a psychiatric ward earlier this year - has been forced to spend huge amounts on legal bills and psychiatric care.
Independent accountant Robert Bianchi - who is not involved in the Spears care - also estimates the 26-year-old singer lost out on a staggering $50 million by not touring to promote her most recent record ‘Blackout’, according to In Touch Weekly magazine. Read the rest of this entry »

The ‘Toxic’ star is claimed to have been preening herself while behind the wheel of her white Mercedes when she ran into the back of a Nissan car at 8.18pm on a Los Angeles freeway.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) accident report: “The collision occurred when the driver of the Mercedes, driving in the number three lane, in stop and go traffic failed to observe the vehicle directly ahead of her come to a complete stop.
“She attempted to brake but failed to stop her vehicle prior to colliding into the rear of the Nissan in front of her.” CHP Officer Patrick Kimball added: “Britney’s car collided into the rear of a Nissan, which in turn hit another car.” Read the rest of this entry »

The ‘Toxic’ singer - who lost all visitation rights to two-year-old Sean Preston and 18-month-old Jayden James in January following a stand-off with police - has recently had limited access to the boys and is now showing signs of responsible parental behaviour.
Mark Vincent Kaplan, lawyer for Britney’s ex-husband Kevin Federline, who currently has sole custody, told America’s OK! magazine: “Britney’s progress over the last two months is good. But it’s premature to say that two months shows a pattern of consistency.

Britney Spears has failed in a bid to request an appeal over her father taking control of her estate. James Spears was granted custody of his daughter’s property and finances while the singer was in a psychiatric unit. The terms of the court order gives her father conservatorship until July 31 2008.
